Certificates and Public Key Infrastrucutre (PKI) provide the basis for security in our ever-shrinking, Internet connected world. Even with their importance though, most Windows and System Center administrators are afraid of and avoid PKI. Conceptually, neither are not very complicated and neither should be feared. This session will introduce foundational PKI concepts, how every administrator can easily deal with the certificates in their nvironment, and why PKI is not something to be feared. Additionally, we'll discuss how the two key System Center componets -- Configuration Manager and Operations Manager -- utilize PKI certificates. We'll also look at the pitfalls, traps, and head-ache inducing issues that do exist and how to avoid or resolve them.
